2 & 3-Day Class. Sculpting Head, Hand, Foot and

Head Mold

Materials for Each Person:

1.     Doll Sculpting Stand: Make by drilling 3/8” hole in center of a 6” square piece of ¾” plywood.

      Hammer and glue 6” long piece of 3/8” diameter dowel into hole.

2.     Four pieces of ¾” plywood, 10” x 12”.

3.     25 pounds moist modeling clay; preferably a stoneware pottery clay, gray or white, with a smooth consistency.

4.     One small cat’s tongue brush.

5.     Optional: Photos to work from. I recommend 5 x 7 front view and side views taken at eye level.

6.     2 gallon size plastic produce bags.

7.     6” plastic ruler.

8.     Optional: plastic or metal turn table.

Materials for Whole Class

1.     200 pounds plaster for every 10 students.

2.     2 bottles Murphy’s Oil Soap.

3.     Three, 3 to 5 gallon plastic buckets.

4.     Wooden stirring stick. Any long stick will do.

5.     Three, inexpensive, ½” paint brushes

6.     Optional: Blackboard or Marker Board

7.     Plastic drop cloths for floor. Especially if carpeted.

8.     Rubber Mallet

9.     Two Fettling knives or Kitchen knives

10. Two eye sizer tools. Wooden. 18mm and 24mm

11. One package Drywall Sanding Screen per 10 students

12. 3 rolls, clear plastic packaging tape (The kind for UPS packages. Not Strapping tape).

13. Assorted sized plastic eyes. The flat kind are least expensive and best. Sizes 18mm, 20mm, 22mm,24mm and 26mm. Have more 22mm and 24mm.

A Complete Set of Molds

5-Day Class. Sculpting Clay Busts and a Full Figure

Materials for Each Person:

1.     Doll Sculpting Stand: Make by drilling ½” hole in center of a 10”x 12 “ square piece of ¾” plywood. Hammer and glue 10” long piece of ½”diameter dowel into hole.

2.     Sculpting Armature for full figure: (Make from directions in video of full figure, VOL 5)

3.     75 pounds moist modeling clay; preferably a stoneware pottery clay, gray or white, with a smooth consistency.

4.     One small cat’s tongue brush.

5.     Photos to work from. I recommend 5 x 7 front view and side views taken at eye level. Also have photos of hands and feet and of full figure of age desired

6.     2 gallon size plastic produce bags and 2 large, garbage size plastic bags

7.     6” plastic ruler.

8.     Optional: plastic or metal turn table.

9.     pair of 10” calipers

10. Plastic spray bottle

11. Ceramic loop tools and assorted modeling tools

12. Teasing needle, metal fettling knife

13. Dry wall sanding screen, or piece of metal

I will bring modeling tools and certificates will be awarded to all seminar participants.
